Sanity Snack: My Best Hack for Mom Overstimulation

Welcome to Sanity Snacks — quick, snack-sized posts for busy moms with full plates.

If you’re a mom who gets easily overstimulated by loud noises (hi, it’s me 🙋‍♀️), let me share the one hack that has truly saved my sanity…

Just picture this: I’m sitting on the couch attempting to write a blog post. My five-year-old is singing “Soda Pop” from K Pop Demon Hunters at the top of her lungs while whizzing Hot Wheels cars across our new floors. My 2-year-old is whining, crying, or screaming every 45 seconds about a car that isn’t working, something her sister isn’t sharing, or from joy from winning a car race. A month ago, I would have been completely overstimulated and ended up snapping at one of them when I eventually lost my temper. Now? I stay calm, regulated, and focused, thanks to my new Loop reusable earplugs.

These little game-changers let me still hear what my kids are saying — but quieter. The volume gets turned down just enough that I’m not instantly overwhelmed by the constant yelling, whining, or singing. And because I’m not drowning in noise, I can actually focus, breathe, and parent calmly in the big moments, while also getting a few things done while they play right next to me. I also love to use them in the car when they like to “scream sing” lyrics of different songs at the same time.

It feels like a total mom win: I’m still present and responsive when I need to be, but those in-between moments don’t cause a sensory overload. Sometimes it’s not about fixing the chaos, but finding small tools that help us manage it better. For me, Loop reusable earplugs have been exactly that.

Overstimulation is real. Do yourself a favor and invest in some more peace — Buy them here.

Let’s not lose our minds together,

Tori
